Did you know that Heppa means Pony in Finnish?

I am definitely partial to the textile as wall hanging. These tea towels from Suvi Ainoa would look quite lovely on my wall. In collaboration with Finnish artist Hanna Konola, the towels are linen, and printed with environmentally friendly dyes. Sweet and Simple.

A Tree Grows in Amherst

We’ve got some art going on, thanks to Rosie, who built these lovely trees to adorn the windows of our Amherst store. You’ll have to visit to get the full effect–well worth it because these trees are simply lovely and my photos do not to them justice. Thanks for the hard work Rosie!

Paper Dolls for Grown-ups

Thursday was a crap day. Car accident, grumpiness, and frankly, a rather dismal season of Project Runway so far. Friday, these beautiful pieces cheered me up. (via)

From Oh My Cavalier, these gorgeous Mechanical Animals Paper Dolls make me want to put on a puppet show, just for myself.

Of course, the loveliness doesn’t stop there. Artist Julianna Swaney also makes prints of her watercolor works.

100% of the proceeds from this one, called Night Demons, will be given to the Audubon Society’s Oil Spill Clean-up effort.

The Collection may in fact be my favorite. I love her seriousness, truly the face of an obsessed collector. Not yet available as a print, but you can see the work in progress at Swaney’s equally distinctive blog, Rare Red Bird.
